Investing Tonight Show (ITS) with ESSEC APAC
After exactly 2 months, we were back again with our sixth instalment of the Investing Tonight Show!
We recently launched our sixth iteration of our Investing Tonight Show (ITS) with ESSEC APAC, home to ESSEC Business School’s Asia-Pacific branch. ESSEC is a globally recognised brand and business school based all the way in Cergy, France. A premier session was held with both their undergraduate and postgraduate students, joined again by our co-founder, Tiffany.

On November 27, 2024, we were thrilled to host our inaugural Investing Tonight Show (ITS) - Value Investing edition with the wide range of various students from all over the world.
Joshua, one of the program leads for ITS, introduced Next Gen and our guest speaker, Tiffany. Tiffany travelled the world learning from the best, from Tsinghua to Oxford, and currently is a seasoned investor at Star Magnolia Capital and co-founder of Next Gen Investors Endowment Ltd.
Tiffany then took over and dived into fundamental analysis, due diligence, and her experience working in hedge funds and family offices. She carefully curated her insight and experience for the students, making it easy for non-business students to understand while still meaningful for knowledgeable individuals. Tiffany also gave real-life examples and analogies that simplified complicated financial concepts - think of handbags, bubble tea shops and castles!
During the session, we assigned the students to read Chapter 25 of INVEST!, which delves into the brand of XD Network. This business study explores the nuances and operations of XD Network and how it is led by a CEO who is a gamer himself. Following the reading, we facilitated group discussions based on the Harkness Method, where the students discussed what they've learned or found useful. It was an insightful discussion with people from all backgrounds.
We hosted our flagship Stock Market Charades, so that we could ensure the students were familiar with the Value Investing concepts we just discussed. Charades is the famous game we know and love with a twist - it’s investing based! We used action cards that are Value Investing related and students have to act out these terms for their teams to guess.
Alas, all good things come to an end. Please find some of the feedback from the students after the session:
Do check out our Substack for more information about Next Gen, as we also post about different things, like quarterly letters from our club leaders, or initial memos on companies that our members have researched on.
