Remember that VIP International Chapter is now changed to VIP Southeast Asia Chapter because it has been difficult to manage students from opposite time zones as the majority based in Singapore and China, and usually such students will drop out of the Z Club due to the difficulties in committing to online meetings. Also, we want to encourage more engagement within the chapter, and it will be easier to start building a closer connection with people from a smaller region. Thus from this year onwards, we will only accept members from Southeast Asia into VIP SEA.
Meetup in India
Mouli RAJ (VIP SEA 2024) met up with Sidhaarth (EIP 2023) on 17 and 18 June when Sid went to India!! Read on to see how this incredible meetup happened from Mouli himself:
I came to know through Shinya that our club member Sidhaarth is visiting India and so I began my journey with my initial plan of meeting Sidhaarth for a couple of hours then returning home. Since I enjoyed the presence of Sidhaarth around me, I changed my plans and extended my visit to spend more time with him. During our discussion, we discussed our investment journeys, philosophies, life lessons and cross-cultural perspectives.
The fact that I haven't personally visited Singapore has made me curious about his experience with our weekly activities and meetups. It was fascinating to hear about his experiences and it inspired me to visit Singapore soon and meet our club members in order to gain more insight and perspectives.
In addition, what made me curious about my interaction with Sidhaarth was his ability to bring some new perspectives to the table. Perhaps it has something to do with the geography. Even though Singapore is considered an Asian country, it has more influence from western countries than it has from Asian countries. As a result, its people have a mix of influences from western countries and Asian countries.
While I am unable to explain exactly the differences in thought between us, I did want to emphasize that he brought a different perspective that I would not have considered.
The important takeaway from Sidhaarth's meeting is that I will be able to form a set of different opinions and perspectives the more I engage with people from diverse backgrounds. In that case, I would like to interact with our club members, so please feel free to reach out to my Lark DM. It would be interesting to brainstorm about Stocks & Books.

That's not all... Don't recognise this lady? That's because she's Claire CONTRI, a current VIP SEA candidate and she is from France! (we changed from VIP IC to VIP SEA after she applied)
Claire connected with Mouli through LinkedIn, and when she happened to visit India on 9 July, they arranged a meetup and voila! It's so cool that our members and potential members get to connect and build new relationships from different cultures and countries. Let's keep reaching out and connecting with one another - that's what the Z Club is here for!
18 June Hiking
The boys went out for a lovely hike along the Southern Ridges when Shinya was in town in June. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the hike was cut short. However, we topped off the morning with a cosy Thai meal at Sanook Kitchen, Vivocity.
