Meet the Member - Qinglin ZENG
Let's meet Qinglin, member of the Greater China Chapter as we embark on a new series of meeting the members of the Z Club!
Z Reporter: Hi there, Qinglin! As our guest for this edition of "Meet the Member," could you start by introducing yourself?
Qinglin: Hello, I'm Qinglin ZENG, originally from Guangdong. Currently, I'm pursuing the first year of my master's degree at Renmin University. I have an ENFJ personality type, with a balanced mix of extroversion and introversion. I possess strong empathy and have diverse interests, such as outdoor activities, hiking, and podcasting.

Z Reporter: Haha, I often see your travel photos on social media, especially those ticket collections – looks pretty cool!
Qinglin: Yes, mainly because I started my studies in 2019 and experienced the lockdown due to the pandemic. After my senior year was over and the restrictions eased, I had the opportunity to travel. It was like completing a memorable graduation trip.
Z Reporter: Many people indulged in revenge spending after the pandemic. I understand, I also have plans to travel in the future, exploring the beauty of our country and experiencing different regional cultures.
Z Reporter: I remember you joined the Z Club in 2022. How did you find out about our club? Was it through a friend's recommendation or by following our Wechat Official Account?
Qinglin: I got to know about the club recruitment by following the Wechat Official Account. I'm someone who likes to try new things, so besides joining the Z Club, I'm also a member of various other organizations and charity groups at school.
Z Reporter: What aspects attracted you to joining our club? Or what benefits have you gained since becoming a member?
Qinglin: I think there are a few key points. Firstly, Z Club's dual focus on investor education and charity appealed to me. I have a keen interest in both areas. Secondly, through Z Club, I've met many friends who share an interest in investment, and I've learned a lot from them. The club also provides valuable learning opportunities, such as regular interactions with investors. After joining, I gained the courage to start investing in stocks, even though my returns are still average at this novice stage. However, I believe that the courage to "learn by doing" and the ability to learn and reflect from practical experience are gifts from Z Club.
Z Reporter: Indeed, our recent Shanghai Investment Forum had several industry experts sharing insights. It's a pity you couldn't attend.
Qinglin: Yes, it was unfortunate due to the distance. But it's okay, there will be other opportunities.

Qinglin: Actually before university, I already had diverse interests in economics, psychology, sociology, and literature. I maintained my interest in these fields during college. For example, I became a peer counselor at university, offering psychological support. I also regularly read literature books, and these activities have been very helpful for my personal development.
Z Reporter: The Z Club recruits new members every year, and some may be interested in investing although they have limited experience to begin with. When researching a specific industry, do you prioritize diving into the top companies of that industry as a rookie investor?
Qinglin: Personally, I would still prioritize studying the industry leaders. There are two main reasons. Firstly, I believe they have the ability to outperform others, indicating various competitive advantages. Secondly, for beginners, researching leading companies can provide better learning opportunities. These companies have been in the market for a longer time, experiencing more industry cycles, allowing you to observe changes in their strategies and competitive strengths throughout these cycles.
I would like to offer a small advice - I recommend following investment-related public accounts. They sometimes interview investment managers and fund managers, providing insights into their investment perspectives and market views. This can be helpful in cultivating your investment intuition.
Z Reporter: Great advice! If anyone wants to explore investment opportunities in cutting-edge technology, learn the investment secrets of real pros, and invest in your own life, you should follow our Wechat Official Account and read 《大赢家》. The investoon features interviews with professional investors and listed companies, conveying investment concepts through interesting stories. We believe you'll gain a lot from reading them.
This marks the end of our interview. Thank you Qinglin, for being part of this and for sharing your story!
